UW–Madison’s 2025-2027 capital budget request focuses on essential infrastructure improvements, including the demolition of the Humanities Building, a new residence hall, and critical upgrades to existing facilities, ensuring the university meets Wisconsin’s educational and workforce needs.
Investing in Wisconsin’s Future
To maintain educational quality, research excellence, and continue powering Wisconsin’s economy, we request a modest increase in the operating budget and a fair compensation plan to attract and retain the talent necessary to deliver a world-class education.
Reduce Costly Delays for Projects
UW–Madison seeks a change in state law to allow the Universities of Wisconsin to approve building projects funded entirely by university-generated revenue. This will enable essential projects to move forward promptly, benefiting students and the state without costly delays.
